Nano is up and I’m going!

snapshot-bookcover1It’s day two, and I’m up to 9,500 words! The goal is 50,000 by the end of the month. I’ve spent so much time thinking about the story, and changing it and starting it and changing the idea and then and then and then, I’m just happy to finally be pushing this thing out.

The story is unfolding in my mind so easily, I just have to type as fast as I can to keep up!

At this rate, I’m sure I’ll hit 50,000 words pretty early this month. Here’s my plan. Write like the wind, prose like a pro, spew like a spigot.

And then go back, read what I wrote, push the characters harder, fix the obvious typos and not even think about re-writes for now. Just capture the bonfire-retelling version of the tale.

It’s exciting! I’m so excited!

I bet you wish you could read it as I write it, don’t you?

I’m posting all my work nightly. Last year, I kept it to myself, like “oh this is going to change the world of literature.” and it totally did that, in that it did nothing at all.

So this year, yeah, just put it out there from the beginning, ask people to read it and tell me what they think about it.
